Description

• Support the Department of Veterans Affairs by providing technical and programmatic support services • Lead the delivery of a Federal Agency’s Enterprise Security Architecture and Strategy • Provide thought leadership for new techniques and design patterns related to Enterprise Security Architecture within the domain of Automation and DevSecOps • Ensure consistency with NIST Cybersecurity Framework and other federal mandates • Develop and deploy comprehensive network security artifacts for firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems • Create and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines to protect network assets • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security threats • Aid in response to network security incidents and perform forensic investigations • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into network infrastructure • Stay current with emerging network security threats and technologies • Maintain detailed documentation of network security configurations, policies, and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System Architecture, Telecommunication System, Design or related discipline • 7 years of relevant experience • Proven experience as a Network Security Architect or in a similar role, with a strong background in network security design and implementation • Deep understanding of network security technologies and protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST and ISO 27001 • Experience with network security tools and technologies, such as SIEM systems, network analyzers, and vulnerability scanners • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex security challenges effectively • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable
