Description

• The Development Director leads revenue-generating fundraising and development activities for the organization. • Cultivates and maintains positive relationships with current and potential donors. • Works closely with the Board’s Resource Development Committee. • Collaborates with a team of professionals that provide resource development support to the Center. • Researches corporations and foundations, and identifies opportunities for corporate sponsorships. • Writes foundation grants and increases amounts funded year-over-year. • Maintains professional and friendly relationships with foundation grantors. • Utilizes Every Action (CRM) to track donor cultivation. • Prepares weekly update lists of all activities and distributes to the President/CEO and the Chief of Staff. • Sets, monitors, and achieves annual fundraising goals.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree required. • At least three years of fundraising experience in a nonprofit environment. • Able to articulate strategies for soliciting and cultivating gifts, sponsorships, and grant writing. • Familiarity with CRM management (EveryAction or similar databases). • Proven ability to speak and write in a concise and persuasive manner. • Able to use various databases to run reports. • Demonstrated knowledge of sound and ethical fundraising principles. • A superior communicator who readily shares information concisely. • Articulate and personable, able to convey a positive image of the agency externally, and credible and reliable for staff internally. • Able to multi-task and stay cool under pressure. • Must be mature and patient, demonstrate good judgment and integrity, and be persuasive and friendly.
