• Operate, maintain, and continuously improve Power Flow models to support FTR and daily trading activities. • Analyze and process large datasets to model and forecast key fundamentals such as supply, demand, pricing, and grid congestion within the American power grid. • Predict congestion and pricing trends in power markets to inform trading decisions and strategies. • Maintain, execute, and continuously improve power flow models, ensuring their accuracy and relevance. • Share knowledge and contribute to training Junior Analysts.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline. • 5+ years of experience in power markets, including roles such as Transmission Engineer at an ISO, utility, or similar organization, or as an analyst on a power trading desk. • FTR trading experience is an asset. • Proficiency in SQL and Python, or similar scientific programming languages. • Expertise in Power Flow and production cost modelling of North American power markets using tools like DAYZER, PowerWorld, PLEXOS, MATPOWER, Promod, or similar platforms. • In-depth knowledge of power market economics, including congestion pricing mechanisms.
