We believe that staying connected to your pets is key to both their well-being and your own. • Position Description We are hiring an Engineering Lead who will be responsible for taking our engineering operations to the next level. You will report directly to the CEO/Product Lead and will work closely with other stakeholders from design and growth teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for leveraging technology to drive business growth. They will have extensive experience scaling engineering teams and systems in dynamic environments, demonstrating a proven ability to deliver impactful solutions while aligning technical strategy with overall business goals. You will drive growth and day to day operations by optimizing our existing tooling and integrations. We currently operate a Webflow frontend and Healthie/Zendesk CRM system.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience, ideally as a Senior Engineer, Solutions Engineer or Architect. • Experience working in engineering at a startup company (not as a consultant or in an agency capacity). • Strong experience with Javascript, understanding of the basics of AWS. • Experience building out engineering programs and making tooling decisions to solve high level business problems. • Experience building out and/or leading teams, either inhouse or outsourced is a plus but not mandatory. • Understanding of the basics of web businesses (user acquisition, reporting, analytics) and the structure of web (hostings, HTTP, tracking, tag manager, cloud). • Tech enthusiast. You are always on top of what is going on in the tech space and how new tools and practices could be leveraged to help the company do better. A lot of our stack uses different flavors of Javascript, experience with which is mandatory. • Problem solver. While you may not have all the answers, you approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset. You thrive on solving complex issues within the IT domain and excel at breaking down problems to uncover the most effective paths forward without getting blocked. • Collaborative. You work effectively with both engineers and experts from adjacent teams to solve the task at hand with the utmost empathy towards the stakeholders affected by the outcome. • Strategic. You can efficiently understand business challenges and come up with a plan that addresses short, medium, and long-term approaches to solving the challenge. • Driven. You must be passionate about building business and efficiently solving problems versus just thriving on tech for the sake of tech. • Agile. You're comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and you’re excited by the opportunity to iterate and evolve based on new insights. You excel at making recommendations even when the information is incomplete, always staying open to refining your approach. • Humble. You find it easy to check your ego at the door and to take and give thoughtful feedback.
