📋 Description

• This is a remote position. • As a Backend Developer for Medical Departures, you would be responsible for building a world class, rich quality APIs to support several business requirements including core public websites and internal websites. • You should have knowledge on the backend side including cutting-edge architecture stack and great skill to work with multi-regional databases. • Development of high quality database solutions. • Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements. • Suggest new and improved queries. • Develop procedures and scripts for data migration and achieving. • Design and build a world-class API to support global users. • Maintain old system (based on PHP and currently migrating to Node and Python). • Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement. • Collaborating with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience. • Escalate any technical issues, roadblocks, or project risks to the development team leader. • Developing ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends. • Recording data and reporting it to proper parties, such as clients or leadership. • Taking lead on projects, as needed. • Participate in the entire application lifecycle, troubleshoot and debug applications, focusing on coding and debugging. • Write clean and reusable code to develop functional web applications. • Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications. • Provide support to internal teams. • Stays abreast of industry best practices, technologies, architectures, trends and emerging technologies. • Working alongside the senior team to define and deliver a best practice backend solution. • Build new features to help our external customers find the perfect global dentist/doctors. • Build and maintain the tools for the Medical Departures staff to do their jobs quickly and efficiently via our custom CMS. • Challenge the existing architecture; make constant improvements to the codebase and point out faults in our existing processes. • Help build the world’s largest global medical marketplace.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a SQL Developer or similar role • Excellent understanding of SQL programming • 5+ years of Web API development experience • Node, Express and TypeScript • PHP and Python experience is a plus • MySQL or equivalent relational database experience • AWS, especially serverless architecture • NoSQL (any brands) • HTTP, Restful, gRPC, GraphQL • Git, Swagger • Good English language skills: written & spoken • Impeccable written communication skills • Ability to work responsibly and productively from a remote home-office environment • Proactive, sense of responsibility, friendly and can work independently • Quick and resourceful, flexible, accurate, strong analytical skills and an eye for detail • Great face-to-face and telephone communication skills • Positive attitude • Willing to do whatever it takes to deliver extraordinary results • Good team player
