📋 Description
• Mesa is on a mission to make homeownership more affordable and rewarding. • They are building the homeowner membership category by rewarding consumers on all aspects of their homeownership spend. • We’re looking to bring on our first Senior Data Engineer to lead the buildout and on-going development of the data function here at Mesa. • You’ll play a critical role in establishing best practices, architecting new solutions, and implementing tooling to empower everyone within Mesa to make data driven decisions. • Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you’ll work with cross-functional stakeholders to standardize metrics for usage across reporting, experimentation and ad-hoc analysis. • This position will require a strategic and technical leader with experience scaling a hyper growth startup.
🎯 Requirements
• 5+ years of software engineering and operationalizing data pipelines with large and complex datasets • Experience with data modeling, ETL, and developing patterns for efficient data governance. • Experience with manipulating large-scale structured and unstructured data • Experience working with batch and stream processing • Strong proficiency with Typescript is a must • Strong with SQL • Experience using dashboarding tools such as: Mode, Tableau, Looker • You’re passionate about event-driven architecture, microservices, data reliability, and observability • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, handle ambiguity, and have strong product ownership mindset • Must love dogs 🐶
