• We are open to remote candidates. • Metalab ships products loved by billions worldwide, influencing how we work, live, and play. • As a Principal Designer, you’ll lead fully within the work, constantly seeking opportunities to elevate design quality and expand the skillsets of those around you. • Joining a team of the most senior design practitioners, you’ll be expected to operate across multiple creative disciplines. • You’ll lead in defining the product experience, translating the intention of the product strategy and the character and emotion of the brand into thoughtful, useful, and lovable products. • Work across many aspects of the design process, bridging experience, visual, and motion design to create exceptional digital products. • Set the bar for quality on your projects, identifying opportunities to elevate the work and team around you, often pushing clients and colleagues outside of their comfort zones. • Support other designers of all levels and help to promote an inspiring and inclusive environment for the team. • Collaborate closely with our brand team to ensure that the brand principles are translated into the products we design. • Participate with research and strategy to generate and evaluate design opportunities, and test solutions through storyboards and prototypes. • Collaborate directly with and present to key client team members. • Work hand-in-hand with engineers and product team members to foster innovation and ensure feasibility and fidelity of implementation. • Share your knowledge and approach to the craft with the broader design team at MetaLab and the wider industry.

Requirements

• Experience working in collaborative, highly iterative, cross-functional teams, sharing work daily. • Proven experience across UX, UI, and Motion design at a senior level, with a portfolio that showcases your range, typically T-shaped with your core discipline being UI and Motion design. • Strong facilitation and communication skills, enabling effective critique and design discussions, with a demonstrated ability to communicate design rationale and strategy effectively. • A track record of working across the product development cycle, from initial vision and discovery through to detailed design execution.
