Description
• Mission Bit inspires youth of color to explore STEM through project-based computer science education. • As a Lead Instructor, you foster an engaging classroom environment and connect with students. • You will use Mission Bit’s in-house project-based curriculum to plan two lessons per week. • Provide training and ongoing support to instructional staff throughout the semester. • Create an inclusive and community-based classroom culture. • Prepare and facilitate lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
Requirements
• Have at least 2+ years of experience in HTML/CSS (this may include college, bootcamps, internships, or workforce experience) • Have values aligned with Mission Bit and a passion for sharing CS knowledge • Have experience effectively working on a team for technical projects • Are comfortable in public speaking situations and have strong communication skills • Have experience working with a diverse group of individuals • Are self-starting with the ability to effectively work autonomously • Have experience working with youth, especially in an educational setting • Have experience in project-based learning, asset-based teaching, and/or culturally relevant teaching • Are bilingual in Spanish, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Arabic, Tagalog, or Samoan
