📋 Description
• Climate change is causing deep uncertainty at all levels of society • Mitiga’s mission is to mitigate multifaceted risks posed by climate-driven perils • Seeking dynamic and experienced Risk Modeller to join our science team • Develop and implement advanced catastrophe risk models • Analyze complex datasets to assess and predict risks • Create and refine stochastic models • Design and implement risk transfer solutions • Advise clients on optimal risk transfer strategies • Lead and participate in R&D projects • Provide expert advice to public sector clients • Collaborate with insurance and reinsurance companies • Conduct risk assessments and provide insights • Develop training programs for insurance sector professionals • Provide technical leadership to junior modellers and analysts
🎯 Requirements
• Advanced degree (master’s or PhD) in relevant field such as Mathematics, Economics, Earth Sciences, or related discipline • At least 3 years' experience in catastrophe risk modelling • Strong background in research and development • Demonstrated ability to work with public administration institutions in disaster risk management • Deep understanding of the insurance and reinsurance industry, including underwriting, pricing, and risk transfer solutions • Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages (e.g., Python, R) • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment • Ability to take ownership of and work independently on projects • Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
