Description

• The Cost Accountant applies principles of cost accounting to conduct studies which provide detailed cost information by performing the following functions below. • Maintains and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation. • Travel is not required. • This position has no personnel management responsibilities and reports to the Cost Accounting Manager. • The normal shift is 40 hours per week in the office, with periodic extended hours, as needed. • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. • Prepares and analyzes monthly journal entries and account reconciliations relating to inventory • Analyzes raw material and finished goods inventory accounts for proper recording of various transactions affecting cost of sales and prepares journal entries as needed, reconciles month-end account balances to raw material and finished goods inventory reports • Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. • Reviews PO Activity matching to invoices • Reviews and analyzes inventory variances • Reconciles prepaid inventory

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university • Four years of related accounting experience in a manufacturing environment • Must have a strong cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles • Proficient in Microsoft Excel • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail. • Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes • General awareness knowledge of the ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements, company Quality Policy and your contributions to the effectiveness of the QMS; • Responsible for being knowledgeable of and acting in strict accordance with the requirements of all relevant laws, regulations, and Company policies, including, among other areas, Food and Drug Administration regulations.
