• Seeking an experienced Backend Staff Engineer with expertise in Ruby. • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the backend development team. • Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and other teams. • Influence technical decisions and project direction. • Mentor and coach junior engineers. • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly. • Identify and address challenges proactively. • Stay up-to-date with Ruby on Rails advancements. • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality software. • In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, cloud and one of the backend languages. • Prior experience in a leadership or staff-level role within backend development. • Experience with database design, optimization, and query performance tuning. • Experience in driving technical decisions and implementing positive organizational changes. • Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals regarding distributed systems and networks. • Problem-solving skills and ability to think from first principles. • Bias towards shipping early and iterating. • Familiarity with other backend technologies and frameworks. • Excellent mentoring and coaching abilities. • In-depth knowledge of Ruby on Rails framework, along with proficiency in related technologies. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in a dynamic environment.
