📋 Description

• At MyFitnessPal, our vision is to be the most trusted brand for improving your health through better food choices. • We believe good health starts with what you eat. • We provide the tools and resources to reach your weight management goals. • We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the brand-new MyFitnessPal Partnerships team. • You’ll have the opportunity to positively impact users with your expertise in backend systems. • This role spends the bulk of their time contributing code and ideas to solve complex technical problems. • The majority of the work will be in Kotlin, with some in Scala, Ruby, Java, Go, Node and Python throughout the stack.

🎯 Requirements

• 4-6 years of relevant experience • Have built high request volume APIs for a multitude of clients, including but not limited to: Mobile, Web, Third-Party integrators • Supported client teams through migrations efforts involving large-scale API changes • Experience with a variety of API design patterns, such as REST & GraphQL • Experience with a variety of data stores (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis) • Profiling and performance tuning applications • Experience with high volume messaging queues such as Kafka • Familiarity with AWS and/or other cloud computing platforms • Bonus Points: • Exposure to XP, Pair Programming, Mob Programming or other highly collaborative working styles • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD) or other practices focused on building self-verifying code • Have contributed code to iOS, Android or Web applications • Experience re-platforming high volume, high criticality systems
