Description

β€’ Natera is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Director to join our Research group within the Data Science team. β€’ Overseeing research projects, guiding a team of data scientists, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. β€’ Leading and mentoring a team of data scientists and researchers. β€’ Overseeing the design, execution, and analysis of research projects to ensure scientific rigor and integrity. β€’ Managing multiple research projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgets. β€’ Working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into product offerings. β€’ Staying abreast of the latest developments in data science, genetics, and bioinformatics. β€’ Presenting research findings to internal and external stakeholders, preparing scientific publications and proposals. β€’ Ensuring all research activities comply with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.

Requirements

β€’ Ph.D. in quantitative (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Engineering), or a related field. β€’ Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science or bioinformatics, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience in women's health diagnostic testing is a significant plus. β€’ Extensive knowledge and practical experience in machine learning, statistics, deep learning, bioinformatics. β€’ Proficiency in data analysis tools and scripting languages such as Python. β€’ Strong understanding of genetic data and bioinformatics pipelines. β€’ Advanced experience in open-source machine learning libraries (Python) in a cloud-based environment. β€’ Proven ability to apply mathematical principles to solve real estimation problems and implement practical solutions. β€’ Familiarity with assay development and analysis pipelines for molecular and clinical biomarkers. β€’ Proven ability to lead and manage a research team. Excellent project management and organizational skills. β€’ Proven experience working with teams of diverse individuals to deliver complex projects. β€’ Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences. β€’ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build productive partnerships.
