β€’ At Timescale, we empower businesses with real-time insights from their data, allowing them to make faster decisions and optimize operations. β€’ We are creating a movement to unblock developers who are building the future. β€’ Timescale is a product-led growth organization driven by transparent leaders and a globally diverse, remote-first team that is proudly building a modern PostgreSQL cloud platform. β€’ We're looking for experienced engineers to help us build and maintain the platform for our managed TimescaleDB cloud services. β€’ You will work with a close-knit team, building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our platform. β€’ Your work will be instrumental in developing our Kubernetes-based clusters and infrastructure. β€’ This role is perfect if you enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges and automating workflows.

Requirements

β€’ 5+ years of experience in platform engineering β€’ Experience programming in the Kubernetes ecosystem or using the Kubernetes API (operators, controllers, and custom CRDs) β€’ Strong programming skills (we mostly use Go) β€’ Extensive experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred) β€’ Experience designing, understanding, and debugging complex distributed systems β€’ Deep knowledge of Linux, container environments, bash, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi) β€’ Experience deploying, operating, and using major production-level databases. Bonus points for PostgreSQL and/or TimescaleDB! β€’ Experience deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters at scale. Knowledge of Kubernetes cluster orchestration tools like kops or kubeadm is a plus β€’ Experience with CNI and CSI interfaces. Have an understanding of their purpose and solid experience with at least one CNI and CSI plugin - deploying, tuning, troubleshooting. β€’ A good understanding of feature sets of different Kubernetes versions, be well informed about new features. β€’ Understand different solutions for monitoring kubernetes health and troubleshooting, improving control plane and worker node performance. β€’ Have experience tuning kubernetes components such as API server, kubelet, scheduler, kube-proxy, controller manager, for improving performance, security hardening and improvement of reliability. β€’ Experience of managing self hosted kubernetes clusters (not only EKS, AKS or GKE) is a plus.
