Description

• Senior Software Engineer will be a part of a software development team working on internal actuarial solution cloud platform. • Can independently create API-based web applications from concept to finished product with a cloud-first emphasis using strong knowledge of general programming languages, frameworks, and deployment methodologies. • Implements solutions for complicated or ambiguous technical problems. • Uses effective communication skills to articulate problems and solutions to both product stakeholders and the development team. • Works in a collaborative environment to build and deploy effective and efficient applications with well-tested code. • Designs, develops, tests, deploys, and supports API based systems focusing on industry best practices with a cloud-first emphasis. • Implements timely decisions on complicated technical problems. • Manages individual tasks and timelines with an ability to work without direct supervision. • Supports legacy systems while the new ones are being built for launch and adoption by the business. • Seeks continuous quality improvements for supported systems. • Mentors and coaches teammates. • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience • Proficiency in multiple tools of the full stack covering frontend frameworks, databases, and deployments • Experience with a variety of general programming languages • Experience with Test-Driven Development • Experience with a variety of database technologies • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies • Advanced ability to solve complex problems, drawing upon creativity, experience, and multiple sources of information • Advanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in straightforward manner • Must-Have: Node.js, C#, React, .Net, Relational/NoSQL database, Terraform, AWS and/or Azure, SQL • Nice to have: Angular, Groovy, Python, Shell Scripting
