• Are you passionate about creating sustainable solutions using AI and cloud technologies? • As a data architect, this role creates the blueprints for data management systems to integrate, centralize, protect, and maintain the data sources. • The data architect masters technologies like SQL, Hive, Pig and Spark, and needs to be on top of every innovation in the industry. • The data architect is responsible for setting standards and modelling operational and analytical data; structured and unstructured data; data in motion and data at reset. • The data architect plays a data stewardship role and is a key participant in Information Lifecycle Management. • The data architect is expected to assess new technologies and techniques that can drive improvements in reliability, agility, business performance or reduce total cost of ownership. • The data architect will work closely with the organization to help translate business requirements into technical requirements. • Develop, manage, and maintain an information enterprise reference architecture based on industry standards. • Creating and maintaining canonical data models and facilitating integration between systems. • Work with the development teams to guide them through the actualization of the data architecture. • Ensure that compliance and security standards are reflected in the development of data architecture assets. • Providing governance through standard processes. • Facilitating the establishment of data standards. • Establishing strategies to manage the taxonomy as well as to analyze unstructured data. • Assessing new industry and technology trends and making recommendations on technology direction. • Support solution architects in the application of data models and standards to ongoing projects. • Work with data analysts and scientists to instantiate physical data models and optimize data performance. • Participation in hands-on “proof-of-concept” activities e.g. tooling assessment, SQL coding.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline is required • Minimum 10-year experience in Information Technology preferably in all phases of the systems development lifecycle is required • Minimum 5-year experience as a data architect • Working use of data management and modelling tool • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with both structured and unstructured data • Proven track record as a data architect • Strategic thinking and analytical skills • Exposure to Big Data • Bilingual English/French • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills • Effective analytical and planning skills
