• As Head of Compliance, EMEA, you’ll lead a growing team responsible for building and enhancing the compliance programs for all operating entities in the EMEA region, while monitoring regulatory developments throughout the region. • Lead strategic direction, training and advisory support with regards to Compliance across all OKX entities within EMEA. • Manage the country Heads of Compliance/MLROs of OKX entities in the EMEA region to develop robust compliance policies, procedures, controls, and frameworks • Engaging cross-functionally (with groups such as Data, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Product, and Risk) to implement an effective compliance management program in line with the global standards and industry best practices. • Monitor and assess compliance with laws, regulations and policies (including MiCA, GDPR, etc) and similar types of regulation regionally. • Lead Compliance reporting in the region, including reports to senior management, management committees, and the board, and other materials as required by direct and matrix stakeholders. • Oversee ongoing regulatory engagement in the region with all key regulators. • Liaise with first line, as well as other second and third line teams to ensure a sufficient control environment that fulfills regulatory standards in all EMEA countries in which OKX entities operate. • Act as first port of call for business team members in compliance issues and advise accordingly. • Assist with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• 10+ years of experience in compliance in financial services, FinTech or cryptocurrency industries. • Knowledge of Compliance and regulatory risks for the crypto industry. • Extensive experience of overseeing an effective compliance management program in line with EU/UK standards and an awareness of local and international industry best practices. • Experience and knowledge of relevant US and EU laws and requirements (AML/CFT, sanctions, consumer protection, privacy) and managing regulatory engagements. • Strong leadership and people management skills. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. • Proven ability to work within and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Self-motivated, critical thinker and adept at working independently and in a dispersed team environment covering multiple and varied tasks. • Intuitive, highly ethical and comfortable to question and challenge. • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
