Description

• Assist with preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual indirect tax returns, including sales and use, gross receipts, excise, and VAT/GST returns; responsible for complete work-paper documentation and referencing • Gather data and provide support to outside advisors to assist with the preparation of income tax provision and tax returns • Prepare tax account reconciliations and post journal entries • Process tax payments • Monitor and organize notices and correspondences from various governments and prepare responses • Help develop enhancements and automation for indirect and income tax compliance processes • Assist with maintenance of sales and use tax software and new nexus filing obligations • Assist with tax controversies, including responding to information requests, preparing work papers and gathering other supporting documentation • Completing tax research for various taxing jurisdictions • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed • Leading special projects as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other financial discipline plus a minimum of 2 years of related tax experience required • Tax Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience in corporate tax, which includes financial reporting, income tax compliance and audit. Previous sales tax and VAT/GST experience is a plus. Experience with a major public accounting firm or large multinational corporation is preferred. • Industry Experience: Ideally, candidates will have experience in the retail industry; however, this is not a strict requirement • Motivation and Multitasking: The role requires an individual with a desire to take initiative to lead or pursue tasks and inquiries, capable of multitasking and meeting deliverables within tight time constraints and deadlines • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for conveying clear and concise information to both tax and non-tax audiences. • Interpersonal Skills: Being a strong team player and possessing the ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities is crucial for fostering collaboration and maintaining positive relationships • Technology Skills: Candidates should possess Excel skills at intermediate level or above (vlookup, pivot table required; sumif, countif). Previous knowledge of NetSuite, Avalara and Alteryx is a plus
