• The Director, External Communications will report to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Communication as a member of Onity’s Corporate Communications team. • This role is primarily responsible for public relations, including engaging with media outlets and trade publications, and identifying opportunities to promote the Company’s initiatives, accomplishments and capabilities. • The Director will disseminate information through multiple mediums including responsibility for press announcements, article contribution, executive and subject matter expert interviews, speaking opportunities, award submissions, and external-facing presentations. • This role will provide necessary communications expertise to help strengthen and position the Onity brand among the public, including the mortgage and financial services industries.
• Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent work experience in a directly related field. • 10+ years of experience with a focus on in-house communications and public relations. • Demonstrated experience in leading, creating, and executing communications strategies, plans, and content for large-scale and multi-brand organizations. • Financial Services Industry-related experience required – specifically, an understanding of mortgage banking (originations and servicing), and/or real estate. • Must have proven, established relationships with the press and media sources. • Strong proficiency using communication tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, digital and social platforms, and virtual meeting platforms (i.e., Zoom, MS Teams). • Excellent writing skills to communicate various topics clearly and concisely • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and creatively. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. • Analyze and present complex information concisely with clarity. • Partner with all levels of the organization to ensure effective implementation of time-sensitive initiatives and identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement. • Work with internal and external parties, across locations and time zones, in the execution of projects and other initiatives • Successful track record of developing strong relationships across a broad range of leadership functions allowing for effective influencing and change.
