Description

• Our Senior Medical Writers work as part of a multidisciplinary team to produce various communication materials • They manage their workload under strict timelines and are responsible for developing content that supports clients • Participating as an active team member in providing strategic recommendations and contributing to continuous quality improvement • Developing high-quality written materials that are scientifically accurate, appropriate to the target audience • Consulting with creative, medical, and varying internal teams to conceptualize and develop project assets • Being an active participant in client meetings, providing strategic input and collaborating with medical directors • Providing onsite support for advisory board meetings, symposia, and medical congresses • Interacting with key experts to solicit input and resolve queries about content • Researching medical and scientific topics using relevant information sources and annotating them while writing • Providing mentoring/training to more junior-level writers and assisting in project proposals and new business initiatives • Following standard operating procedures (SOPs), including updating of project files and version-control conventions

Requirements

• MD, PharmD, or PhD strongly preferred • 5+ years of experience with a medical communications agency, or equivalent • Strong scientific background and enjoy communicating complex scientific ideas in a clear, accurate, and innovative way • Pride in producing high-quality medical content with support from a strong team • Desire to be in a dynamic role involving mentally stimulating assignments and direct interaction with clients and scientific experts • Desire to learn and grow: Planting roots with a company that supports your ongoing growth and development and that offers opportunities for continued training and advancement as either a writer or medical director • Openness to accept constructive feedback from the medical director, authors, and clients and implement it across your projects • Experience synthesizing and interpreting data from multiple sources • Ability to perform medical literature searches and produce high-quality medical content development • Aptitude for the English language and excellent written and verbal communication skills • Willingness and ability to work both independently and in a team structure • Flexibility to effectively work across multiple therapeutic areas • High comfort level interacting with clients and authors/thought leaders • Ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing challenges, issues, and priorities with the ability to delegate, problem solve, and set clear expectations • Enthusiasm, team-player attitude, self-motivation, and professional demeanor • Proficiency performing PubMed searches and using MS365 programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
