Description

• As a Senior Software Engineer at Oportun, you will be a key member of our engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated software solutions in achieving the charter of the engineering group. • Your mastery of a technical domain enables you to take up business problems and solve them with a technical solution. • With your depth of expertise and leadership abilities, you will actively contribute to architectural decisions, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions that advance our impact in the market. • This is a role where you will have the opportunity to take up responsibility in leading the technology effort – from technical requirements gathering to final successful delivery of the product - for large initiatives (cross-functional and multi-month long projects).

Requirements

• 6+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or a Master's degree with an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Proven track record of delivering sophisticated software solutions with high quality. • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for tackling complex technical and business problems. • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. • Demonstrated experience in web application development, RESTful APIs, and frontend technologies HTML, CSS, Java Script, Angular. • Write clean maintainable, and efficient code to ensure high-quality UI components and features. • Ability to quickly learn new systems/requirements, and create POCs and develop code. • Solid grasp of version control systems, such as Git. • Knowledge in OAuth2. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment. • Proven ability to mentor and lead other engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
