β’ Outrider is a software company that is automating distribution yards with electric, self-driving trucks. β’ At Outrider, youβll develop, improve upon, and ship cutting-edge software that drives next-generation freight transportation. β’ This role, formally Senior Engineer, Embedded, Sensors, and Safety Software, will support the creation of reliable, safety-critical software that senses, monitors and controls the vehicle. β’ This position requires exceptional software engineering skills, understanding of the full development life cycle, attention to detail, and ability to learn in unstructured environments. β’ Develop/document software in C and C++ through all phases of the development lifecycle: concept, requirements, design, architecture, implementation, unit test, integration (HIL), and vehicle level system evaluation. β’ Solve complex system safety problems with elegant solutions and apply judgment and experience to balance trade-offs between competing interests. β’ Triage and perform root cause failure analysis through understanding of system contextual usage, end user observation reporting, and system log file information. β’ Identify opportunities to improve deployed systems; work with software teams to understand data, performance, and potential improvements. β’ Play a significant role in mentoring and educating the team and organization on software & system safety best practices, processes and tools.
