• The EPIC Operational DBA assists in the installation and administration of operational database (ODB) environments. • Working under close supervision, this position supports the setup, configuration, and maintenance of ODB environments to ensure the development of an accurate clinical database that supports critical healthcare operations and data integrity for the organization. • The EPIC Operational DBA Intermediate installs and researches operational (ODB) database environments. • Working under moderate supervision, this position reviews and supports the setup, configuration, reporting, and maintenance of ODB environments to ensure the development of an accurate and secure clinical database that supports critical healthcare operations and data integrity for the organization. • Participates in the creation and management of ODB environments for production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs to ensure EPIC database availability and performance. • Manage and support Epic ODBA systems and data integrations. • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues. • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop reports and data models. • Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory standards. • Installs and maintains administrative and monitoring tools required for maintaining high performance levels of the EPIC system. • Researches log-in behavior and configuration of working environments, to ensure quicky and secure access to the EPIC system for end-users. • Responds to emergency and after-hours issues to minimize system downtime and ensure smooth operation. • Monitors system performance, analyzes performance metrics, and troubleshoots issues to optimize system performance. • Applies IRIS and EPIC upgrades and updates to both production and non-production environments, following established and standardized organizational procedures. • Configures and maintains environment copies as per the defined environment strategy to support testing and development activities. • Occasional travel may be required. • Incident response to incidents on a 24x7 on call rotational basis is required. • Develops and maintains system performance, SFTP, and auditing scripts. • Monitors and maintains system backups and performs restorations when necessary.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or the equivalent level of experience. • Understanding of Linux (preferable Red Hat) operating system concepts such as user and group ownership and file permissions, file system/volume group configuration, etc. • Knowledge of a command shell (Korn, POSIX, Bourne, or C), plus languages and utilities such as awk, sed, and Perl. • Ability to create, understand, and follow processes to ensure successful execution of critical maintenance procedures • Excellent communication with the ability to communicate with leadership and present updates on status. • Familiarity with DevOps practices and integration with other teams. • Ability to support outage incident on a 24x7 on call rotational basis. • Current Epic ODBA Certification. • Minimum of 5 years’ Epic experience with last 3 as an Epic ODBA.
