Description

β€’ designing, deploying, and sustaining autonomous software and hardware systems in austere environments while collaborating directly with end-users to refine solutions. β€’ Frequent and extended travel is expected in this role. β€’ Deploy and Field-Test Systems: Install, configure, and evaluate OverDrive systems on uncrewed vehicles in real-world conditions. β€’ Develop and Iterate: Contribute to hardware/software integration and enhancements, leveraging user feedback to improve autonomy capabilities. β€’ Support Field Operations: Troubleshoot and repair systems during deployment, often in remote and resource-limited settings. β€’ Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with engineers and program managers to ensure seamless deployment and alignment with end-user needs. β€’ Document and Analyze: Maintain detailed records of field performance, documenting lessons learned and recommending improvements. β€’ Train and Support Users: Act as the on-site expert, training users and ensuring operational readiness.

Requirements

β€’ Willingness to travel extensively (>50%) both CONUS and OCONUS to support DoD projects, often on short notice. β€’ BS/MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). β€’ Proficiency in one or more of the following: robotics, sensors, networking, embedded systems, electronics, off-road vehicle operations and maintenance. β€’ Experience supporting systems in Linux environments, including debugging hardware and software in the field. β€’ Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance. β€’ Resilient problem-solver with a focus on delivering results under pressure. β€’ Experience with uncrewed systems and robotics software (e.g., ROS, CAN, drive-by-wire systems). β€’ Familiarity with autonomous system sensors (LIDAR, cameras). β€’ Proficiency with programming languages such as Python or C++. β€’ Knowledge of field-testing protocols and safety-critical environments. β€’ Enthusiasm for solving problems hands-on in challenging conditions, including adverse weather and remote locations. β€’ Thrive in dynamic, cross-functional teams and small startup environments. β€’ Experience deploying hardware and software in defense technology, deep tech, or start up environments. β€’ Willingness to co-locate at testing sites or military installations for extended periods, both CONUS and OCONUS.
