• Seeking an experienced Principal Data Governance Engineer to support Pathward’s delivery of well-governed data. • Key responsibilities include supporting Data Governance efforts, maintaining automated processes, acting as an Enterprise Data Steward, and collaborating with Capability and Platform leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems or an equivalent program is required. • Solid understanding of core Enterprise Data Catalog capabilities and activities, including administration of the platform. While exposure to Ataccama is preferred, some exposure to similar tools (such as Alation, Global IDs, Collibra, Informatica, etc.) is essential. • Strong knowledge of the core Data Governance related Knowledge Areas as defined by the Data Management Body of Knowledge (Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata, Data Security); CDMP preferred. • Experience identifying and resolving Data Quality concerns through root cause analysis and the implementation of data quality rules. • Competent development of reporting and analytics through Power BI and/or ThoughtSpot. • Experience with Power Automate, Forms, and SQL. • Some exposure to APIs is preferred. • Demonstrated ability to facilitate cross-functional discussions with business and technical leaders. • Ability to translate KPIs into meaningful stories that motivate business and technical team members. • 3 – 5 years of experience in Data Management and Data Governance. • At least 3 years practical experience working with and administering Enterprise Data Catalogs and Data Quality tools; experience with Ataccama preferred. • At least 3 years practical experience facilitating Data Governance fact-finding and decision-making conversations resulting in concrete decisions. • Direct experience defining and implementing data privacy preferred. • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at multiple levels. • Proficiency in both written and verbal communication, as well as creating impactful visualizations, engaging step-by-step guides, and formalized work procedures. • Proven experience translating complex data governance concepts into clear, concise language for diverse audiences. • Excellent collaboration skills working in a distributed team setting. • Demonstrate self-initiative to learn and contribute. • Willingness to contribute towards a common goal, fostering a cooperative work environment. • Ability to influence stakeholders by presenting alternate viewpoints, acting as a mentor and coach for technical and business team members through the implementation of data governance tools and processes.
