• As a data scientist at Pelmorex you will have the opportunity to work on a very diverse set of projects in various business units. • These include product demand forecasting based on weather in our B2B business, utilizing Deep Learning in weather prediction, and various ad-tech solutions from improved audience targeting to advanced location insights. • This role requires you to be eligible to work in Canada and provide Eastern Standard hours support.
• 2+ years of data science experience in industry • Strong and fundamental understanding of statistics , including knowledge of probability theory, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and data modeling. • Solid understanding of Machine Learning (ML) concepts and its application in a variety of use cases such as classification, regression, clustering, and anomaly detection. • Experience developing ML solutions in industry or research including preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, training, validation, and deployment. • Good foundation in SQL for data manipulation, querying, and analyzing data to support machine learning and data science initiatives. • Strong programming skills in python (preferred), including relevant statistical, machine learning, and deep learning libraries (pandas, numpy, stats models, scikit-learn, tensorflow, etc.) • Experience with distributed computing environments (e.g., Apache Spark) • Skills in graphical data visualization (Google Looker, Matplotlib or similar) • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas to an audience with a non-technical background • Experience developing Deep Learning solutions in industry/research.
