• Design innovative products and take the designs from concept through implementation • Presenting to convey design intent and concept connected to business need and product specifications. • Partnering closely with internal and external teams, including but not limited to engineering and marketing. • Communicating ideas through sketching and other forms of visual communication in a fast-paced environment. • Understanding the customer and installers, commercial indoor, outdoor lighting, EV charging and control systems so that functional aspects can be considered along with aesthetic needs and cost objectives. • Gaining knowledge of the commercial lighting business, maintaining awareness of existing products and products offered by competitor businesses. • Staying informed about trends color, materials, and processes. Includes maintaining knowledge of design software and new technologies to effectively convey design concepts. • Managing industrial design and user experience portions of a project and assisting Design Director in design strategy • Creating diverse ideas to inspire and stimulate meaningful products. • Participating in new product development strategic activities which include generation of new product concepts and innovative ideas. • Meeting with customers and installers. • Determining appropriate approaches and executing design research, product concept drawings, physical modeling, renderings/visualizations, and product presentations. • Developing and maintaining familiarity with materials and processes used in the industry and the manufacturing of RAB Lighting products.
