β€’ Job Summary: The Network Security Engineer is a key element within the Rackspace support infrastructure and is expected to provide a high level of technical support to our customers via the phone, ticketing system, and automation. β€’ This role owns complex customer issues which may take several days or weeks to resolve and keeps our customers updated through every step of the process. β€’ The Network Security Engineer is expected to take initiative and advise on potential pitfalls that a customer may encounter and suggest alternatives through automation, which may better serve the stability and security of the customer's solution. β€’ Technical issues can include troubleshooting customer network environments including firewall configurations, VPN technologies and access-control lists, VIP configurations, TCL(iRule) and Perl scripts, layer 4 thru 7 issues. β€’ The role will also support many elements of the Rackspace Cloud product portfolio, including RackConnect. β€’ The Network Engineer will create and maintain customer loyalty by providing Fanatical Experiences above and beyond customer expectations. β€’ Responsible for adhering to company security policies and procedures and any other relevant policies and standards as directed. β€’ Work Location: Remote

Requirements

β€’ Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. β€’ Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH or CISM desired. β€’ Experience with one of the following security tools: Tripwire, Tenable, and/or Trend Micro. β€’ Experience with change management tools such as: Ansible, or Big Fix. β€’ Knowledge and experience with ethical hacking, firewall and intrusion detection/prevention technologies, secure coding practices and threat modeling. β€’ Advance knowledge and experience of virtualization technologies, Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems. β€’ Advance knowledge and experience of network and server hardware infrastructures and storage technologies (NAS, SAN). β€’ Experience with designing secure network architectures, identity and access management principles, application security, encryption technologies, DNS, SOA, database and web applications. β€’ Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex scenarios with clear solutions. β€’ Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
