Description

• The GAC is established to support a robust governance framework for SFF mandate implementation. • The GAC advises the Board in establishing and reviewing governance practices. • The GAC focuses on ensuring appropriate committee functioning and representation. • GAC members are selected for their governance experience and diverse backgrounds. • Meetings occur four to six times a year, conducted virtually.

Requirements

• Strong governance experience in for-profit and nonprofit boards of varying sizes, including as chair, committee chair member or board trustee. • Demonstrated understanding and ongoing commitment of best practices from a governance standpoint. • Experience working with governments, public, private or social sector initiatives. • Diversity that reflects communities across Canada, specifically groups that have been traditionally marginalized due to gender, race, identity, age, ethnicity, geographic region and socioeconomic background. • A strong understanding of the social finance sector in Canada, including current trends in impact measurement and reporting and social innovation. • A deep understanding of financial markets in Canada and changes that may affect the Realize Fund I’s investments.

Benefits

• GAC members will be reimbursed for reasonable out-of-pocket expenses, such as travel costs, if required. • GAC members will receive a stipend of $500 less applicable taxes and deductions for each GAC meeting attended.
