• We’re looking for a Staff Engineer with extensive software engineering experience to join our Engines & Data team. • The Engines & Data team is responsible for the design, development, testing and maintenance of our healthcare policy engines, which are the heart of our cloud-native, distributed, healthcare payment integrity solution. • Currently written in Python and based on policies defined by our internal Clinical Content team, we continually expand the coverage of our policy engines and work to optimize performance of the existing system. • As a senior member of the technical staff and a key contributor to the Engines team, you will play a critical role in building new engines in the current architecture as well as implementing new architectures and designs for extensive new functionality that supports more direct configuration by our clients and further improves performance. • You will collaborate closely with software engineers and data scientists to bring machine learning models into our product suite. • This position requires a customer-first, quality-oriented mindset.

Requirements

• 10+ years hands-on experience as a software developer in a professional environment and working with production systems • 5+ years of experience working in Python and on Python applications, including Python dependency management, packaging and publishing tools as well as Python libraries commonly used in machine learning • 5+ years of relevant experience in data and ML systems, including selecting, building, refining and maintaining machine learning and statistical models • Strong belief and demonstrated capabilities in leveraging the power of testing and test automation • Technical lead on multiple large software projects • Experience in a professional environment with several compiled languages (Golang, Rust, C, C++, C#, etc.) • Experience with shell scripting, Git and continuous integration workflows/pipelines • Experience with SQL or similar query tools/languages • Experience building and debugging data-rich applications • Experience with AWS • Strong listening and interpersonal skills. You consider yourself a lifelong learner and you are willing to read documentation, ask questions, explore and iterate to improve.
