Description

• As the Director of Legal and the foundational member of the team, you will own all aspects of legal strategy, including commercial, product & privacy, corporate, and employment law. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our legal practices, working closely with Sales, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, and Finance to develop best-in-class B2B commercial processes that set Scribe up for success across channels. This includes advising on strategic deals, go-to-market issues, and tactical input regarding commercial agreements and regulatory compliance. In addition to providing hands-on legal support in a few core domains, this role will manage outside counsel relationships when specialized legal expertise is required. You will report to the Director of Finance and Operations and work closely with the Founders and Leadership team.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience, including 3+ years at law firms and 3+ years in-house at high growth technology companies (strong preference for SaaS or B2B businesses) • Experience providing tactical, day-to-day legal support while also having the ability to zoom out and think strategically • Proficiency in commercial B2B SaaS transactions, including direct, channel partnerships, and strategic transactions • Deep expertise in tech-related legal matters, including SaaS agreements and data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills • Must understand and be able to articulate the financial and regulatory impact of our business decisions to internal and external stakeholders • An appetite to learn new areas of the legal function that you previously didn’t have exposure to • Experience with managing external counsel • Exceptional judgment and integrity • Strong sense of initiative & ownership • JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar
