• About the company and the project: • The pioneering company, with 20+ game launches, 50 million downloads, and 10 million active users, seeks a 3D Character Modeler & Animator. • Known for its groundbreaking approach in developing mobile games and applications for children, the company stands out for its commitment to blending entertainment with educational value. • Their games have garnered widespread acclaim and are accessible on major platforms like the App Store, Google Play, and Amazon Store, making a significant impact on the global gaming community. • With a strong focus on creativity and quality, the company fosters a collaborative environment where talented individuals thrive and contribute to shaping the future of digital entertainment. • Located in Cyprus, the company’s office in Limassol offers a dynamic work environment conducive to creativity and innovation. • Employees enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule, combining remote work opportunities with in-office collaboration. • The office culture is characterized by a passion for excellence and a shared commitment to pushing boundaries in mobile gaming development. • Joining the team means being part of a forward-thinking organization poised to make substantial strides in the industry while enjoying a supportive and inspiring workplace. • Your tasks on the position: • Optimize 3D character models and textures for mobile games. • Create low-polygon and mid-polygon character models suitable for mobile platforms. • UV mapping and texture development using Substance Painter, Photoshop or Krita. • Rig and skin characters to provide smooth warping for mobile animation. • Animate characters using keyframe techniques, providing smooth, responsive and efficient movements. • Optimize character assets for low draw calls, minimal memory usage, and real-time performance in game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine (Mobile). • Create modular character components for customization systems. • Troubleshoot and refine character models and animations based on game performance testing and team feedback.
🎯 Requirements
• Proven experience as a 3D Character Modeler & Animator for mobile games • Strong portfolio showcasing both stylized character modeling and animation for mobile • Expertise in Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max for modeling and animation • Proficiency in Substance Painter, Photoshop • Strong understanding of low-poly modeling, texture baking, and optimization for mobile performance • Experience with rigging and skinning for efficient mobile animation • Familiarity with Unity (Animator, Mecanim) or Unreal Engine (Mobile animation workflow) • Knowledge of sprite-based animation, blend trees, and lightweight animation techniques • Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative game development cycle • Experience with VFX animation, shaders, or physics-based mobile animations • English B2+ • Experience working on casual, hyper-casual, RPG, or strategy mobile games • Familiarity with 2D-to-3D workflows for mobile • Knowledge of optimization tools like Texture Atlases, LODs, and GPU Instancing for mobile games • Basic scripting knowledge (Python, C#, or Blueprint) for animation automation
