📋 Description

• Who We Are: Settle is on a mission to make buying inventory super easy. • About the role: As a Software Engineer on the Inventory team at Settle, you will develop Settle's inventory management software. • We are seeking versatile back-end engineers with a product-focused mindset to elevate our business to new heights. • What you'll do: Design and build customer-facing features for inventory management that impact small business owners’ ability to manage cash flow and scale operations. • Collaborate with Product and Design teams to ensure features are user-friendly and aligned with customer needs. • Optimize systems for scale, reliability, and usability, supporting increasing user demands while maintaining user experience. • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative culture that prioritizes learning and growth. • Drive projects to completion, effectively communicating progress and challenges to all stakeholders.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally within a customer-facing role or product-driven environment. • Strong understanding of product engineering with a focus on how your work impacts the end user. • Technical expertise in designing scalable systems, building APIs, and developing infrastructure to meet growing customer demand. • Proficiency in Ruby on Rails (or willingness to learn), with strong foundations in OOP and familiarity with ORM frameworks such as Django or Hibernate. • A customer-first mentality, with a deep curiosity and focus on understanding customer needs and delivering high-quality features. • Experience in building microservices that support scalability, maintainability, and resilience. • The ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment, solving new problems and developing impactful solutions. • Leadership and mentorship skills, with a desire to help others grow while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
