Description

• The Technology team at Shippit make an impact and create the future of Shippit. • Participate in the development of product features through all the phases of the software development cycle. • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to define, design, and ship new features. • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in Ruby on Rails. • Coach, mentor and at times, lead junior developers to increase their understanding, impact and capability. • Continuously learn and apply new technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to breakdown business requirements into technical tasks. • Experience working on web applications, REST APIs, queues, and other infrastructures around it. • Familiarity with OOP and/or imperative design patterns. • Experience with Ruby on Rails. • Familiar with type systems or have experience working with a typed language such as C# or Typescript. • Familiarity with modern Javascript UI frameworks such as React or Vue. • Experience working with relational databases, able to design an effective storage schema while keeping the access patterns of the data in mind. • Comfortable writing tests for the code you write. • Excellent communications skills and eager to learn. • Proactive and self-motivated.
