📋 Description

• At SMA America, we believe in Energy that Changes. • Since 1981, SMA has been developing innovative solar technology with a purpose. • The Product Engineering Specialist Medium Voltage serves as a specialist for post sales Service activities with customers regarding SMA Medium Voltage equipment such as pad mounted transformers and switchgears. • Supports system connections, special testing of SMA equipment at sites using advanced test equipment. • Mentors and supports the Large Scale/ Utility service organization in North America. • Serves as the technical specialist for SMA Medium Voltage equipment (Transformers, Switchgears and Platforms). • Provides high level technical support to SMA Field Service Staff and Contractors working/testing MV Equipment. • Serves as a liaison between the US Service, Engineering Services and other technical support teams in the US and Germany. • Creates processes and work instructions as needed to improve Service Operations. • Develops processes and work instructions in collaboration with Engineering Services to aid troubleshooting problems in the field. • Develops and implements a strategy for extensive customer support.

🎯 Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred. • 5-7 years of experience working with Medium or High Voltage equipment is required. • 5-7 years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, service engineering or R&D is preferred. • Experience in renewable energy is preferred. • Electrical and/or mechanical engineering experience is preferred. • Knowledge of solar electric (PV) installation, system design and/or inspection is preferred. • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is required. German/Spanish language skills are a plus. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is strongly preferred. • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are required. • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are required. • Excellent organizational skills are required. • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively. • This position may require periodic domestic and international travel.
