Description

• Collaborating with diverse teams in software solution development that impacts health care • Working in an Agile Environment using the Scrum Framework • Developing new, object-oriented versions of health care classification components using Java • Extending a web-based content management system using Java frameworks and relational databases • Implementing CI/CD and backend tools to support releases • Creating unit tests and improving software performance • Documenting technical aspects for users

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND two years of software development experience OR High School Diploma/GED AND six years of software development experience • 2+ years of hands on Java development in a professional or academic setting (Includes course work/internship) • Proficiency in Maven and dependency management • Proficiency with object-oriented design and applying design patterns • Proficiency with an IDE (Eclipse, InteliJ, Netbeans, Visual Studio) • Proficiency with software configuration management concepts (source control, build automation, e.g. GIT, Jenkins, Maven or Ant) • Familiarity with SQL and relational database design (Oracle, MySQL, PostgresSQL) • Ability to quickly learn and apply new tools and technologies (e.g. Angular, ElasticSearch, SpringBoot) • Familiarity with RESTful services and API design • Familiarity with AWS and Python programming is a plus • Familiarity with procedural SQL is a plus • Familiarity with the Agile Scrum development methodology • Familiarity with health care claims processing software and/or clinical classification methodologies is highly desirable • Experience with Health Information Systems is a plus • Ability to take initiative, understand the code and suggest improvements to design that enhances the overall system performance • Ability to work in a team environment
