Description

• The Solutions Architect (SA) at SORACOM acts as the point of contact for customers and aims to establish and maintain long-term relationships with them by being a full-stack engineer. • The SA will design and prototype IoT application architectures and provide operations, cost-effective proposals, and troubleshooting for running projects to contribute to their success. • The SA will earn customer trust through their high technical expertise and build long-term relationships. • The SA will assist customers with device and part selection by considering necessary sensors, power supply methods, product lifespan, communication methods, protocols, message formats, and price constraints. • The SA may use development boards to prototype IoT solutions and select cloud services, design cloud application architecture, and create machine learning applications using Amazon Sagemaker and Keras or OpenCV. • The SA will understand the customer's business and challenges and perform application architecture to solve those challenges.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and articulate customer challenges and propose logical solutions, while focusing on what the customer really wants and engaging in discussions to reach a consensus. • Practical experience in modern application development and operation, such as the development of scalable applications on the cloud using languages such as Golang, JavaScript, Python, and Java, as well as the use of managed services such as AWS IoT Core, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon Kinesis. • Experience in the design and prototyping of sensor systems using general-purpose microcontrollers (H8, RX), development environments for microcontrollers (mbed, Arduino), or Raspberry Pi, with a focus on sensor selection, device-sensor interface design (UART, SPI, I2C, mipi, USB, etc.), data format design, and cloud interface design while considering data capacity, battery consumption, and sampling rate. • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, with the ability and experience to select and design communication protocols and routing according to application requirements and restrictions, and to troubleshoot communication issues. • Business-level proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N1) and basic English proficiency to enable text-based communication and utilization of English documents. • Preferred experience in technical sales, with practical experience as a solution architect, sales engineer, system engineer, or consultant. • Experience in image processing and data analysis using libraries and frameworks such as OpenCV and Keras, and models such as YOLO and MobileNet SSD for image-based data utilization, or using notebooks and tools such as Scikit-Learn for statistical and machine learning-based data utilization. • Experience in building and operating data processing pipelines using software and services such as Fluentd, logstash, Amazon Kinesis, Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Elasticsearch, InfluxDB, Amazon S3, etc. • Understanding of cellular communication technologies and protocols used by mobile carriers, such as GPRS Tunneling Protocol.
