• ABOUT SOTHEBY'S • Established in 1744, Sotheby’s is the world’s premier destination for art and luxury. • We are seeking an experienced and innovative Front-End Staff Engineer to play a central role in the future of our front-end solutions. • You will join the Client Experience group working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality web applications. • You have a passion for building elegant and accessible web applications and are customer-focused. • Ideal candidate will have technical stewardship, develop responsive web interfaces, promote best practices, and engage with stakeholders. • Stay current with emerging front-end technologies and drive developer productivity.
Requirements
• 8+ years of relevant software development experience building, optimizing, and scaling responsive web applications • Track record of driving projects with an improvement mindset and promoting a solution-oriented approach to ambiguity. • Extensive experience with the following technologies: React, Typescript, Next.js, Jest (plus points for Rescript knowledge) as well as front-end CI/CD tool chain. • Experience identifying and prioritizing issues with broad cross-team and organizational impact. • Significant working knowledge of GraphQL. • Experience building and maintaining design libraries with an emphasis on accessibility. • Deep familiarity with DevOps and application deployment models (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS).
