Description
• The Staff Backend Engineer will lead technical direction for our engineering team while contributing as an individual contributor to our code base. • The Staff Backend Engineer will architect and drive new projects, design and implement API layers, and improve our performance and reliability as we rapidly scale our product and organization. • The Staff Backend Engineer will be involved in product decisions and have a direct impact on the end user experience. • The Staff Backend Engineer will design, build, and continually improve Sound's core backend infrastructure. • The Staff Backend Engineer will develop a robust product-focused API layer used by front-end developers and eventually external developers building on top of Sound. • The Staff Backend Engineer will collaborate to improve continuous integration, deployment, logging, metrics, and visibility into service/site health. • The Staff Backend Engineer will develop best practices for backend application development. • The Staff Backend Engineer will mentor and train other engineers on the team. • The Staff Backend Engineer will have 10+ years of experience in software engineering. • The Staff Backend Engineer will have experience with TypeScript and GraphQL. • The Staff Backend Engineer will be comfortable with SQL databases. • The Staff Backend Engineer will be able to write well-tested, performant code. • The Staff Backend Engineer will be curious to understand and pick up new tools and technologies. • The Staff Backend Engineer will desire to continually improve code quality
Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering • Experience building and maintaining a production system at scale • Experience with TypeScript and GraphQL • Comfortable with SQL databases • Ability to write well-tested, performant code • Curiosity to understand and pick up new tools and technologies • Desire to continually improve code quality and development experienceWe are excited to be able to offer this position and look forward to hearing from you.
