• Spellbook is the leading AI suite for commercial lawyers, trusted by more than 2,600 law firms and in-house teams worldwide. • Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for leading and expanding our Engineering team. • You will have a keen understanding of how engineering efforts drive business goals, recognizing when to reduce complexity & scope and encourage a sense of urgency. • Lead the engineering team in delivering new value to Spellbook users. • Hire, mentor, and manage a team of talented & ambitious engineers. • Maintain a fast-moving, action-oriented, collaborative “builder culture”. • Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices. • Manage the engineering budget and resources to ensure that the team has the tools and support they need to be successful.
• You bring a proven track record of delivering results and 5-7+ years of experience in Engineering leadership at high-growth startups. • You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. • You have a deep understanding of modern technology stacks and cloud infrastructure. • You have a proven track record of managing and scaling high-performing engineering teams. • You bring experience with distributed teams and async communication. • You are a strong problem solver. • You have excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. • You are passionate about delivering a world class user experience. • You care deeply about the customer, not just the technology.
