Description

• Write well-tested, scalable, production-ready code in Kotlin and Python • Develop back-end systems with API usability and experience in mind • Collaborate with our product, design, and development teams in order to fully create and understand the requirements for what is necessary to be produced • Test and debug the code to ensure correctness and completeness • Improve functionality and stability of existing systems • Assess and prioritize feature requests in collaboration with our Product Management team • Fully participate in agile team ceremonies, including refinement, sprint planning, and standup • Grow yourself and your team’s engineering skills by mentoring and participating in design and code reviews • Experience with microservices and distributed systems • Work on special projects or other duties as designated by your manager

Requirements

• Creative, skilled, and self-driven Software Engineer with 3+ years of back-end engineering experience • Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java, with experience or a willingness to learn Python • Understanding of modern web infrastructure and architecture patterns • Experience building services in a cloud platform (AWS preferred) • Familiarity with PostgreSQL or some other SQL Database • Experience with Data Dog and a strong interest in observability is a plus • Capable of writing complex backend code for a publicly accessible web application that can scale with the expected business growth • Committed to collaborative problem solving and sophisticated design • Natural collaborator and problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments • Relentlessly curious and are continuously working to build your knowledge and learn
