Description

• Assist families in accessing relevant community and government resources. • Participate in and provide crisis intervention as needed. • Work closely with teachers, staff, families, and community organizations. • Develop, teach, and monitor social, emotional, and behavioral interventions. • Provide individual and group support to students. • Facilitate support groups addressing personal, social, and academic needs. • Educate school staff on protocols related to suicide prevention and more. • Offer counseling services to students frequently referred for tardiness or absenteeism. • Use student data to design, implement, and evaluate intervention strategies. • Conduct parent education programs and community outreach activities.

Requirements

• Master’s or more advanced degree in guidance and counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field. • Valid Arizona Standard School Counselor, PreK-12 certificate. • Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.
