Description

• Provide individualized and small group counseling services to students in grades K-12, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs in alignment with best practices for virtual learning. • Work collaboratively with teachers and families to develop student-specific goals and action plans to foster academic success and positive social interactions. • Address students' behavioral and developmental needs through proactive strategies and responsive interventions. • Help students and families understand virtual curriculum requirements and assist in course selection to ensure students’ academic pathways align with Indiana state standards. • Guide students in setting achievable academic and personal goals and monitor progress, providing motivation and support to build self-esteem and resilience. • Regularly communicate with parents, guardians, and teachers to support students’ well-being and ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s development. • Participate in meetings with students, families, and educational teams to discuss academic progress and resolve any concerns that may arise. • Proctor state testing exams with students during in-person events, which may require periodic travel within the State of Indiana. • Maintain records of counseling sessions, interventions, and student progress in compliance with Stellar Virtual and Indiana state policies. • Design and implement age-appropriate programs and resources aimed at social-emotional learning (SEL) to support students' growth in a virtual environment. • Collaborate with school staff to develop resources, workshops, and support services that enhance the online educational experience for K-12 students.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution. • Valid Indiana School Counselor License or eligibility for licensure. • Previous experience in academic counseling, ideally in a K-12 setting. • Experience in virtual or remote educational counseling is preferred. • Strong understanding of child development, particularly at the K-12-level, with experience supporting students in an educational or counseling setting. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with students and families in a virtual environment. • Proficient in using digital tools for communication, record-keeping, and virtual counseling sessions. • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively. • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate student and family needs within the virtual setting. • Familiarity with Indiana’s educational requirements and state resources to support elementary students’ academic and social growth.
