• A Principal Concept Artist is a key role on the Atomhawk Canada team – one that will see you working closely with (and learning from) our Lead artists, while also giving you the opportunity to showcase your mentorship skills by providing support and direction to Senior and Intermediate members of the team. • In this role, you’ll make a big impression on your teammates by showcasing a consistently high level of quality and efficiency through your work on AAA projects, while also being a key contributor to the creative culture of the studio – pushing the collective quality bar and ensuring everyone has fun doing it! • As a Principal Concept Artist at Atomhawk Canada, you will: • Have a genuine passion for innovation and creativity, making sure your ideas challenge standard conventions/expectations and that they attempt to bring something fresh, interesting, or wholly unique to the table for clients to consider. • Be motivated and driven to always develop your skills, learn new tools, and hone your craft to maximize the quality and efficiency of your work. • Be a consummate professional in your craft and a key contributor to the creative culture of the team and studio. • Bring a broad range of artistic/technical skills to the table that allow you to confidently work across a spectrum of tasks, genres & styles. • Be an active and highly engaged collaborator who takes every opportunity to connect with others in ways that create impact and value. • Expert understanding of art fundamentals, visual design principles, and the AAA landscape Atomhawk operates in.
• Experience in AAA concept and visual development, or an equivalent level of portfolio that successfully demonstrates your ability to work to those standards. • Highly efficient workflows that utilize both 2D & 3D tools to maximize quality while ensuring work is completed to deadlines. • A proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced creative environment. • Experience working directly with clients and Art Directors in the creation of AAA concept art. • Success mentoring and helping other artists succeed in a supportive, positive way. • A curious mind that is always open to learning, trying, and challenging itself to improve. • A team player who enjoys creative collaboration without any sense of ego. • An educational background in design/art that serves as a foundation for your work. • Experience/skill in designing and producing art outside of characters or environments, e.g. props, weapons, vehicles, etc. • Experience in producing art using game engine technology, e.g. Unreal Engine 5.
