Description

• Swiftly is on a mission to help cities move more efficiently by providing a transit data platform • Engineering at Swiftly involves creating empowered product teams that conceptualize new features • This role joins a cross-functional product team focused on real-time data processing and integrations • Work on hardware integrations, cloud-based software, and client-side SaaS web applications

Requirements

• You are excited to be part of a mission-driven company. Regardless of your why, it is important that you care about the work we do • You have 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience • You have experience building systems that process data in real-time • You’re comfortable working with Java and accompanying libraries/frameworks • You have experience building APIs to surface data and SQL to query data • You have experience with cloud-native architectures and cloud services (AWS preferred) • Bonus if you have experience with any of the technologies in the broader tech stack the team leverages (Apache Kafka, MQTT, Python/JupyterHub, JavaScript/Vue.js) • You love applying technology to solve real problems for customers and users, and you seek solutions that do so by knowing when to work within the constraints of existing systems and when to design new solutions • You embrace a mindset of continuous learning – helping both yourself and those around you adapt as technology constantly evolves • You are a dynamic team player and seek to make valuable contributions wherever it is most needed at any given time to support your team's goals • You’re open to receiving feedback (a core Swiftly value!), approach technical debates with humility, and participate in blameless postmortems when things go wrong
