📋 Description

• Manage design projects and lead partnerships with outsourced tooling design companies. • Utilize CAD software to design and develop injection tooling for various customers, ensuring alignment with project specifications and quality standards. • Conduct feasibility analysis to evaluate the practicality and effectiveness of proposed part designs and customer part concessions. • Manage and coordinate outsourced tooling design partners, emphasizing collaboration and communication. • Review and validate tooling designs from outsourced partners to ensure they meet quality, manufacturing, and functionality requirements. • Provide technical direction and training to outsourced design partners. • Create comprehensive documentation and work instructions for customer and manufacturing reviews. • Collaborate closely with the manufacturing team to ensure seamless integration of design changes into existing tools (e.g., save cut files for floor manufacturing changes). • Work with the Quality team to support continuous improvement efforts and ensure engineering changes are implemented correctly and in alignment with design intent. • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in continuous improvement methodologies and engineering processes, proactively proposing innovative solutions. • Coach and mentor engineers, fostering a culture of problem-solving and innovation.

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the mold-making or plastics industry. • College or University degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred. • Proficiency in CAD software, specifically Dassault Systèmes CATIA V5. • Proficiency in business and analytical tools such as Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), D365, Teams, etc. • Detail-oriented designer with a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations. • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
