Description

• Design, implement, and maintain a replicated and sharded database setup. • Monitor and review queries executed in production to optimize performance. • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and reliability of database infrastructure. • Manage and monitor data pipelines that populate our data warehouse. • Document database architecture and educate developers on best practices. • Perform database upgrades and migrations. • Ensure database security and compliance with regulations. • Review new application queries for correctness and efficiency. • Provide on-call support to troubleshoot database infrastructure issues. • Familiarize with various database monitoring tools for optimization.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in MySQL/MariaDB database administration. • Expert-level knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB architecture, indexing, storage engines, query optimization techniques, replication, load balancing, and cluster management tools. • Strong understanding of database security, access control, backup/restore procedures, and data warehousing concepts. • Experience with database monitoring tools and technologies to optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability. • Nice to Have: • Experience with cloud-based MySQL deployments or containerization technologies. • Experience with Data warehouse platforms. • Experience with ETL tools. • MongoDB experience. • Knowledge of automation tools and scripts for database administration tasks. • Familiarity with DevOps practices and principles.
