📋 Description

• At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world. • TE Connectivity’s Advanced Solutions Team conceives original ideas for new products, develops these ideas into product solutions, and introduces them into practice. • The Advanced Solutions Team is responsible for product concept development and qualification from market definition through transfer to a receiving product development engineering team or manufacturing site; • Conduct testing on new and modified design concept; • Direct and support detailed design, proof of concept prototype fabrication, and verification testing. • The Advanced Solutions Team provides required product documentation including, but not limited to, 3D solid models, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. • They create and modify conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches, and/or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate proof-of-concept fabrication. • Typical fields of expertise include materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or related field • 10 years or more of product development engineering experience • 3 years or more of engineering management experience • Engineering experience in connector and cable assembly industry preferred, especially high speed I/O connectors, high speed board to board connectors, internal and external cable assemblies. • Participation in full product development cycle from establishing customer requirements to releasing qualified design to production. • Knowledge in 3D CAD & CAE applications, and geometric dimensions & tolerances. • Experience with Creo, SpaceClaim, Ansys Mechanical a plus • Detailed understanding of manufacturing processes including stamping, molding, plating, and assembly. • Experience in design for manufacturability to address customer requirements including mechanical, environmental, electrical, and cost. • Knowledge of basic principals of signal integrity including typical performance metrics such as characteristic impedance, insertion loss, return loss, near end cross talk, & far end cross talk a plus • Strong interpersonal communication and knowledge of roles of the cross functional team. • Deep knowledge in area of leadership and accountability. • Ability to work in a global environment and availability to collaborate globally in the mornings and evenings.
