• Write stories and other short pieces of text for language arts workbooks and worksheets • Write educational questions, answer keys, and sample responses based on those pieces of text • Adhere to conventions in The Chicago Manual of Style and an in-house style guide • Ensure that content is the appropriate length and reading level for the given task • Accept and implement feedback
🎯 Requirements
• BA/BS degree, preferably in English, creative writing, or a related field • Exceptional writing skills, including a finely tuned sense of English grammar and usage • Clear, engaging writing style • Strong attention to detail • Ability to come up with creative, engaging, and appropriate story topics • Strong understanding of students’ reading and knowledge levels in grades K-12 • Ability to be efficient and organized while working on multiple projects simultaneously • Demonstrated expertise in language arts content development for grades K-5 is a plus • Previous freelance writing experience is preferred
