• Design and architect AWS-based cloud solutions with a strong focus on security, compliance, and scalability. • Design scalable and resilient architectures that can handle growth and peak loads without performance degradation, ensuring continuous availability and reliability in the face of failures or unexpected disruptions. • Design and implement secure encryption strategies, ensuring the protection of sensitive data both at rest and in transit across AWS environments. • Collaborate with security engineers, compliance officers, and development teams to integrate security controls and evolve current state architecture. • Provide technical guidance and best practices to development teams on secure coding, encryption, and data protection within the AWS environment. • Oversee the creation and maintenance of architecture documentation, and contribute to certification and compliance documentation, including risk assessments and system security plans (SSPs). • Conduct architectural reviews and audits to ensure continuous alignment with industry standards and best practices, such as NIST and ISO 27001. • Evaluate AWS services and tools to ensure they meet the requirements and advise on appropriate selections. Lead the implementation of AWS services & best practices. • Manage and facilitate clear communication between cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including security, compliance, and development, to ensure alignment and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (required); • 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture and implementation, with a strong focus on AWS services. • Strong understanding of industry-standard security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and AWS security services. • Proven experience in implementing security controls and achieving compliance in AWS environments. • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and/or AWS Certified Security – Specialty (strongly preferred). • Cloud-Native Expertise: In-depth knowledge of cloud-native technologies and patterns, including microservices architecture, containerization (Docker), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and serverless computing (AWS Lambda). • Familiarity with Java frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate, and how they integrate within cloud-based architectures. • Experience with Kubernetes: In depth knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration, including managing, scaling, and automating application deployments. • DevOps Experience: Proven experience in integrating DevOps practices into cloud architectures, including the use of CI/CD tools (e.g., Argo CD, GitLab CI/CD), configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Terraform), and automated testing frameworks to streamline deployment processes and ensure consistency across environments. • Demonstrated ability to facilitate alignment and collaboration across multiple teams, including security, development, operations, and compliance, ensuring cohesive project execution. • Identity and Access Management (IAM) Expertise: Experienced in designing and implementing IAM solutions, including OAuth2, OIDC (OpenID Connect), and SAML authentication systems, to ensure secure and compliant access to cloud applications. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex AWS architectural and security concepts to non-technical stakeholders. • Experience with FedRAMP or other compliance frameworks is optional but highly beneficial. • Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners, and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec.
